(February 3, 2015) Having spent a week at the renowned Benedictine Monastery of the Holy Cross in Chevetogne in connection with the first Eparchial Sobor of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Paris, Fr. Andriy Chirovsky was invited by the abbot to address the monks about the work of the institute he founded. The monks were particularly interested to hear of the Faculty of Theology at Saint Paul University in which both Eastern and Western theology are pursued within the same faculty, just as there are both Latin and Byzantine chapels within the one monastery at Chevetogne. They listened with great interest to a description of the fourteen years of MASI summer programs at Mount Tabor Monastery. Fr. Andriy also spoke of the Institute’s publications, especially LOGOS, which can be found in Chevetogne’s magnificent library. At the end of the encounter the monks invited Fr. Andriy to visit again and perhaps bring some MASI students as well.
