MASI Class – Visit to Gurdwara

On March 14, students from the MASI course THO 3305, “Eastern Christianity and the Encounter with World Religions,” along with their instructor, SbDcn. Dr. Brian Butcher, visited Ottawa’s Sikh community. The visit included attendance at a worship service led by their young people; a question & answer session with leaders of the community; a tour of the gurdwara; and participation in the langar, or communal kitchen–a well-known feature of Sikhism. In the course of the semester students in THO 3305 also visited a mosque, synagogue and Hindu temple, gaining first-hand experience of the traditions studied in class
