MASI Participates in Meeting between Prime Minister and Patriarch

On Thursday May 8, 2014, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Patriarch of Kyiv-Halych and all Rus’-Ukraine, Head and Father of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, flew to Ottawa for a day of political encounters, including a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Mr Harper and Patriarch Sviatoslav discussed the current situation in Ukraine for fifteen minutes. Present at this meeting was Fr Peter Galadza, MASI Director, and Fr Alexander Laschuk, previous MASI Director. His Beatitude met with numerous other government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird, and attended question period where he witnessed the clear support of the Canadian government and all Canadian political parties for the people of Ukraine.
