The staff and students of MASI were able to celebrate the Feast of the Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, January 19, 2015 (Old Calendar). We started with the Festal Matins served in the Institute’s chapel of Sts. Joachim and Anna, followed by the Divine Liturgy, followed by a procession to the Rideau River, just behind the Saint University Campus, for the Great Blessing of Water. Usually, we are able to celebrate this feast in the Church of St. Onuphrius, a living exhibit within the Canadian Museum of History, and to celebrate the Great Blessing of Water on the Ottawa River, across from Canada’s Parliament. However, the Museum is currently renovating Canada Hall wherein lies the Church of St. Onuphrius – it will be available for our use again in a few years.
